Your results are equal to the level of intensity in workout.

In other words, you get what you give when it comes to exercise and results.

When you simply go through the motions, while staying in your comfort zone, then results will always be a hope for tomorrow and not today's reality.

What exactly do I mean when I say intensity?

Intensity is a measure of how much energy you're expending while exercising. The harder you push yourself, the higher your intensity. When you're simply going through the motions of a routine, without digging down and giving it your all, the workout has low intensity and your results will disappoint.

While you exercise, pay attention to how you feel. Could you be working harder? If the honest answer is yes, then step it up a notch. It's worth it...

In addition to seeing awesome results quickly, there are two more benefits to bringing up your exercise intensity.

The first benefit is that when you bring the intensity you're able to shorten exercise time. This means less time spent sweating away in the gym and more time doing the things you really love. All while getting even better results than with longer, low intensity workouts.

The second benefit is the after burn that you'll experience after an intense workout. Simply put, this means that your body will continue to burn extra calories long after you have finished exercising. Talk about supercharging your results! Just imagine how quickly your body could transform when you begin to harness the power of exercise intensity.

One thing to remember—it's important that you never sacrifice proper form in favor of intensity. As soon as your form starts to be compromised, reduce your intensity to where proper form is achieved.

Yoga Retreat, Friday March 28-Sun March 30th, Yogaville, VA

Last year we had a yoga retreat and everyone raved about it! The price ranges from $70-$130 per night depending on if you get a private room or shared room. It includes all food (which is amazing by the way!).

Kickboxing: A Combination of kickboxing moves like punching combos, various kicks, and cardio (jumping rope or jumping jacks). Various pushup forms and abdominal work is included to keep the muscles toned and strong.  (Saturday and Monday AM)

Calorie Crusher: A combination of high paced cardio and strength moves designed to crush unwanted calories! A total body workout using compound exercises to burn more calories in less time (and continue burning them throughout the day!!) (Thursday)

1/2 hour Boot Camp: Get the boot camp experience in less time, higher intensity to burn more calories!

Using Perkville to earn cool stuff!

Perkville is a system that integrates with our online calendar and tracks each student's attendance, Facebook and Twitter posts (when done through the system) and referrals and gives points that can be redeemed for merchandise.

If you're a student and not getting the automatic emails, go to and create an account using the email address that we have on file.  From that point you should see your points accumulated. While there, you can post on Twitter or Facebook to earn more points (10 points for each post, that adds up quickly!).  You will earn 100 points for every referral!

200 points = Water bottle or $30 off a personal training session

600 points = t-shirt or 1/2 off a sweatshirt

1000 points = sweatshirt

I’ve been with The Boot Camp Girl for about a year in the Clarksville boot camp. My initial goal was to lose 20 pounds. I’ve been coming to the Clarksville boot camp for a year now and in that time frame I’ve lost 26 pounds. I’ve decreased my 1 mile time from 8 minutes to 6 1/2 minutes and I’ve run two 5K’s my best time being 22:21.
